Tinkergarten provides high-quality early childhood learning in the healthiest classroom of all—the outdoors. Families connect with trained leaders for play-based kids classes that help develop core life skills, all while having fun! Introduction to Hiking
Saturday, March 24, 2018, 10am - 11am
A fun, interactive clinic for beginner hikers. Participants will learn the basics of hiking (what to wear and what to bring), the best places to hike, and much more. Learn about the many programs offered by the Connecticut Fund for the Environment, the Trumbull Nature & Arts Center, and the Trumbull Health Department. Giveaways will be provided to all participants

Nature Hike at Old Mine Park
Saturday, April 21, 2018, 1pm - 2:30pm
A moderate level hike through Trumbull's Old Mine Park. Learn more about Trumbull's "gold mine" (really a Tungsten mine) chock full of geological treasures. Hike with the Trumbull Nature & Arts Center, the Trumbull Health Department, Denali, and Connecticut Fund for the Environment
Ages: All ages. Some areas may be hilly. Not suitable for strollers

Fishing 101
Sunday, April 29, 2018, 9am - 12pm
Our experienced instructor will teach you how to select a body of water, what bait to use, how to tie a strong knot, how to cast your bait and how to identify certain freshwater fish. Other topics include: safety tips, proper care of gear, proper handling and release of your catch. There is a limited amount of fishing gear for use during class. Please bring your own equipment if you have it, and our instructor will be glad to look it over, and organize it for you.
