Go Wild! With Edible Plant Foraging
Sunday, April 30th
Join us for this fun and fascinating program with The 3 Foragers. This group of Connecticut experts will teach us about the edible plants of spring. We'll learn which wild local plants are safe to eat, and then go on a walk through the TNAC grounds to find and eat some of our own wild flora!

One Book One Town - Presidential Facts Letterbox Search
Saturday, April 15 (changed from March 25)
A fun, educational, outdoor, family program!
Which US president founded the National Park System? Who was the first US president to install solar panels in the White House? Learn the answers to these questions and more, when you come to the Trumbull Nature and Arts Center for a letterboxing adventure! You’ll be given questions about US presidents, plus clues to find each answer box, hidden on our easy-to-walk trails. Plus, each box will have a fun stamp to mark on your Presidential Facts card! Never letterboxed before? We’ll show you how to start this lifelong fun hobby!

Be an Ornithologist
Saturday, May 13th
See and learn about birds with models, actual bird nests, bird eggs, and bird feathers! Discover how to use field guides and take a nature walk to find signs of birds. Plus, make 2 crafts: a pinecone bird feeder, and a popsicle bird feeder, to attract birds to your own backyard.

Fishing 101
Saturday, April 22nd
In this workshop, families will be taught the basics of fishing, including how to select a body of water, the correct bait to use, how to tie a strong knot, and the proper use of equipment. There will be a limited amount of fishing gear for use during class. If you have your own equipment, please bring it, and our instructor will be happy to set-it up for you.
